About Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant Denomination with over 22 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to share the good news of Christ’s soon return and His plan for our lives.
Adventists believe in the Trinity (one God (Deuteronomy 6:5) in three persons (Matt 28:19)) consisting of—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.
When He returned to heaven as our High Priest (Hebrews 8:1-2) following His literal, bodily resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor, guiding us into “all truth” John 16. Jesus promised to return to earth a second time (John 14:1-3 ) to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven as John 14 and 1 Thess 4:13-18 clearly state. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.
Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and His Word speaks about the good news not only of salvation but also of His plan for our lives here on Earth including —the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him. He is on our side in all things.
